A scholarship is a financial aid reward to students entered on academic achievement or other criteria that may involve a financial need for schooling purposes.     The number of awards per year may vary under various schemes, subject to the availability of funds. A certain percentage of most of the awards are earmarked for women candidates. Vacant slots of previous year if any are usually carried forward.

    The Indian government has also introduced a list of new scholarships for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other backward classes.

    • NATIONAL OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCHEDULED CASTE STUDENTS

    Study Level: Master level courses and Ph.D.

    Quantum of Finance: Tuition fees as per University offer letter + Living expenses + Cost of books + Air Ticket

    Awards Allotted: 100 awards per year

    • DR. AMBEDKAR SCHEME OF INTEREST SUBSIDY ON EDUCATIONAL LOAN FOR OVERSEAS STUDIES (FOR OBC AND EBC STUDENTS)

    Study Level: Masters, M.Phil., Ph.D. level courses

    Criteria: Should take loan from a scheduled bank of the Indian Banks under the Education Loan Scheme

    Interest Subsidy: Interest payable by the students during the study period and moratorium period shall be borne by the Government of India.

    • PADHO PARDESH SCHEME OF INTEREST SUBSIDY ON EDUCATION LOAN FOR OVERSEAS STUDIES (FOR MINORITY COMMUNITY STUDENTS)

    Study Level: Masters and M.Phil. / Ph.D. levels

    Criteria: Should take loan from a scheduled bank of the Indian Banks under the Education Loan Scheme

    Interest Subsidy: Interest payable by the students during the study period and moratorium period shall be borne by the Government of India.

      • NATIONAL OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCHEDULED TRIBE STUDENTS

    Study Level: Master level courses, Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Research Programs

    Study Fields: Engineering, Technology and Science

    Quantum of Finance: Tuition fees as per University offer letter + Living expenses + Cost of books + Air Ticket

    Awards Allotted: 20 awards per year.

  • NATIONAL OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCHEDULED CASTE STUDENTS
