Here are some tips which can help you achieve better bands in the IELTS.
1. Listening
a. Changing your lifestyle is the key.
b. Get as much exposure in English Language as possible.
c. Make a habit of listening in English. For example: watch English TV series or listen to English songs or watch English News Channel.
d. Read the Questions in the question paper properly.
e. Read the Instructions given in the Question Paper Carefully.
2. Reading
a. Make a habit of reading at least 2 pages in English Language.
b. There are various questions types asked in the paper. Make sure you know about them and you have practiced those question types.
c. Do NOT waste time on the question you are unable to find answers to.
d. Read the Questions in the question paper properly.
e. Read the Instructions given in the Question Paper Carefully.
3. Writing
a. Practice and Understand Grammar of the Language.
b. Writing a grammatically correct sentence is very important. The bands are deduced if the sentence formation is improper.
c. Check the spelling of the words you have written. The bands are deduced if the spellings are incorrect.
d. Learning new words everyday is also necessary. Your knowledge of English Vocabulary is also checked.
e. Make sure that the Essay written by you is about the given topic.
f. Give a relevant example of the reasons discussed in the essay.
4. Speaking
a. Using Formal Language is important. Avoid the use of Slang or Informal Language or words.
b. Your Answer should be responsive and may contain necessary example.
c. Your Answer should be Fluent.
d. Avoid making any grammatical errors in your sentences while speaking.
e. The answers need not be true or correct. The test is taken to check your English.
f. Start talking in English at least 2-3 minutes a day to gain confidence.
